Workshops

MESA runs 8 community workshops over the 2-year award under WBS 7.0 (Training & Documentation), led by G. Chism with the project GRAs.

Format

Workshops are hybrid (in-person + Zoom) and target 20–40 participants per session. Materials — slides, notebooks, recordings — are published under permissive license through the Educator Fellows program.

Workshop themes

Themes are calibrated to the community pipeline as the prototype matures:

Where to find materials

  • Slides & notebooks: published under the MESA GitHub organization at github.com/cyverse/mesa-workshops (repo to be created at first workshop).
  • Recordings: linked from each workshop's GitHub page.
  • DOIs: each workshop's materials are minted a DOI via CyVerse's DataCite service.

Registering

Workshop announcements go out through:

  • The MESA project newsletter (list under construction — email the PI to be added).
  • Partner-community channels (ESIIL, NCEMS, AIIRA mailing lists).
  • The MESA project Slack (invite by request to the PI).
