Educator Fellows¶
The Educator Fellows program identifies 8 educators across the MESA early-adopter communities and supports them to develop reusable teaching materials built on the MESA prototype.
Fellowship model¶
Each Fellow:
- Receives a stipend per cohort (paid through their institution).
- Commits to ~40 hours over a 3-month cycle.
- Delivers one teaching module (Jupyter notebook, RStudio tutorial, or slide deck) demonstrating an MCP-driven scientific workflow.
- Co-presents the module at a project workshop.
- Publishes the materials under permissive license with a DOI.
Selection criteria¶
Fellows are selected based on:
- Demonstrated teaching experience (graduate or post-grad).
- Connection to an MESA early-adopter community (ESIIL, NCEMS, AIIRA, or an aligned NSF program).
- A concrete science use case the Fellow wants to teach with.
